Coming to a close...

I had made plans to make a blog at the beginning of my exchange in France, to record the happenings of my life, to stay connected with people at home, to let them follow along. Well, life took over instead (and, unfortunately (sorry guys!) laziness) and I spent my time living. Now that my time here is coming to a finish, I feel like I'm frantically racing to get in all my last feelings here. I've found things here I never imagined; life, love, friends and myself. It's been an amazing experience! All the hardships have brought great rewards, the only regret I have is that I feel it's ending too soon. I wish I could express better in words what this has done for me and how I feel, but in the worst of times, words fail me to describe just how this has changed me and my life. It's like finishing a book. Whenever I finish a book, I'm glad to get to the end of the story to see how it pans out, but at the same time, I feel sadness that the book is going to end. That this story is over and I have to leave the story and the characters behind. (I can look forward to a possible sequel! :) ) As much as it pains me and I know what I'm leaving behind, I'm also ready to start my life back at home with everything I've learned here. I'm excited to see my family and my friends again, to work towards achieving my new goals, to go to normal school again (lol). So... Coming soon, USA. Be ready!

On a different note, I started reading "The Reader" today and cannot put it down! (Okay, except for right now... (don't judge)) It's been such a long time since I've read like this and it's such a joyous feeling! The book feels light but at the same time, you're reading something of serious nature, so difficult to describe but it's wonderful! I'll be done soon, so I'll make sure to let you know how it goes ;)

Soussignée,

Kat

PS Maybe I'll write about my many "adventures." Who knows?
